Anyone have experience with Lowering Links?
Anybody lower their S8 with lowering links?
Is it worth it?
Is lowering module a better option?
VCDS?
Do any of these options not void warranty?

I can't answer your specific question about lowering links but I can opine on my VCDS experience and on some of the research I've done before attacking this.
Lowering Module - unless you want/need the flexibility to raise and lower frequently or you want to drop it (for show), this is an expensive proposition IMHO.
VCDS - took me less than 30 minutes and that included me measuring before/after and taking my time with it. It is the cost of the VCDS cable from Ross-Tech which is a no-brainer investment for anyone having these conversations.
Lowering Links - I haven't seen anyone using lowering links on a D4 and am unsure of the benefits to lower an air suspension this way when you have the other two options. It's probably cost neutral and the effort may be a little more than VCDS.
With regard to warranty, I'll allow someone else to chime in. Logic tells me that VCDS is the safest bet because you aren't altering the car's electronics/pneumatics or modifying the suspension and I'm not sure that the dealer could detect this mod if you put it back to stock height since it's a setting, not a remapping.

I built in a lowering module in my S8 because I was not happy about the lack of different suspension levels in the S8. Before that I tried lowering the suspension over VCDS lowering which is very easy and works fine. Even though, coming from a A7 with the regular air suspension I missed the option to choose between different levels in the sport suspension of the S8. After installing the ASC-module I can set different levels for comfort mode (i.e. +10mm), for auto-mode (0mm) and for dynamic mode (-20mm), what only gives me the full potential of the different drive modes.
I do agree with my the previous writer that it is quite an expensive gimmick but in relation to the total car costs and the benefit I get through it, it seems reasonable for me.

My mom has a Mercedes GL and I know that it has a black box in there that records everything. For the price of the S8 it is only safe to assume that they have the black box too. Wouldn’t altering the suspension settings via vcds or installing the module be recorded?

Great video! Illustrates the advantage of the module. Frankly, this is right up my alley with my incessant need to automate everything else in and around my home. I'll have to reconsider doing this once I run out of other performance mods.

I have lowering links installed in my 2013 A8L 4.0T. It took some careful measuring and finagling to get all 4 corners at an even ride height. Up and down 5 times on the lift making adjustments to get everything level. The results are much better than the mere 17mm you can get through the VCDS. The top of my tires are tucking with links installed, which is what I was shooting for. Its a lot cheaper than the alternatives to lowering like H&R and CETE module. Rides fine, looks great. CHEAP
