I will bring a proper car to these events when I have one (or when I steal my brothers GT500 which scares women and children). I don't think A8L 4.0T qualifies, even if it is tuned.

People bring all kinds of cars to these events. I think I've been inspired to take my stock A8L to one in October.

Nothing worth doing. The naturally aspirated FSI is very well sorted as it is, and adding forced induction would cost more than simply moving to a 4.0t.

Dirty, how do you like the tune?

Duke, don't wait till you're ready to trade in!

BTW, Ive never done 1/4, but would like to try. I think the closest track to me is Epping NH.

I was not impressed with it at first right after the flash. I was running 91 gas + Torco and tried a 93 Map almost right of the bat (against APR recommendations). I could tell there was power, but not nearly as much as with RaceChip I had in earlier.

I think that I must have jumped the gun too quick and put my car in serious timing retard. After putting the APR back in 91 Map I started to see some serious gains the following day. AZ guys claim to have almost no timing retard on 91 Map with 91 gas + Torco, so I think I was finally seeing a true 91 Map potential the following day after some adaptation.

After talking to AZ guys further I started to mix in about 3 gal of E85 with 91 and switched again to the 93 Map. The car now runs so strong and fast that I cannot believe it. APR has done an amazing job with this Tune, its even power delivery and smoothness. Gear shifting is very OEM, and nothing like when I had the RaceChip.

I am very impressed and this Tune has exceeded all my expectations, but I do think that a right octane map with proper gas mixture (if 91 gas) is in order to see consistent top-level performance.

Unfortunately if you only have access to 91 gas and unwilling to mix your fuel you may not feel such drastic results with the Tune because even on 91 Map some timing retard happens on 91 gas.

I did the APR tune in 2013, best decision ever regarding S8.
Can't leave the house without it

So with APR I'm supposed to be around stock S8 numbers. Little less HP and little more TQ. Still, I can't imagine how great S8 or RS7 with APR on 93 must feel like, not to mention 100... I may need to try some 100 myself.

Where are you picking up your Torco at? Thinking of going to Spokane drag strip in October. I'd like to make a pass without and then one with to see if there really is much difference.

I got mine delivered from Amazon. It took about 2 gas tanks for the car to fully adapt when it was stock, but on 91 it made a lot of difference. However, I don't think that your will notice a difference by adding Torco in between runs before your car fully adapts to the fuel. I didn't do any recording or timing analysis, but given what I have read and experienced, on 91 gas I suspect that the car was pulling timing even when it was stock. There are others who run Aces Gas Formula with 91 instead of Torco.

I now mix in E85 gas instead of using Torco. With about 3 gal of E85 and 19 gal of 91 (which already has 10% Ethanol), comes out to around 20% ethanol per thank and boosts octane to 93. From everything that I have read 20% Ethanol still runs fine through our fuels systems. See calculator below:

https://www.intercepteft.com/calc.html

There is a lot of good discussion on AudiZine regarding fuel in the C7 section. Look up 'Aces gas formula' thread.

I envy people that have access to 93 at the pump.
