Hello Audiworld!

Recently I replaced the front suspension (except for the air shocks) on my A8 4.2L 2012.
Everything went well, just had to re-align the steering.
When I got home, I used VCDS to check for errors, and surely the Audi didn't like the geometry change.
Cleared all errors everything was fine.

So, I kept reading and found the steering angle sensor calibration screen on VCDS, and I swear it was by mistake I clicked on "next" and the thing recalibrated.
I immediately got a MIL error on the dashboard (a yellow steering wheel).

I've tried all the steering angle sensor reset procedures. Recalibration, full right lock, full left lock, drive under 20kph for more than 500 m. Everything.
Reset using vcds all the errors. But the steering MIL will not go away.
What else can I try?

The MIL error causes the ESP and Air Suspension to have error messages as well.

Please help!

I had an "active steering error", see below, but that was cleared after I cleared all errors. but the MIL steering remains as well as ESP and active suspension. See errors below.

I spend most of the afternoon yesterday working on this problem. No answers anywhere.
I tried to remove any other errors related to the CAN gateway. I finally was left with only the Steering "no basic setting" MIL indicator error, and the subsequent errors caused by it.
I performed all the calibration procedures on "17 - Steering Wheel" on the Ross site.
It also called to do the basic settings on "1B - Active Steering".
To no avail. The error remained. The steering was stiff, the suspension was hard and bouncy and no stability control.

Went to refuel the car and took a longish detour on rougher pavement, and came back home.
Took a beer breather and came back to it.
Got into the "34 - Level Control" module and reset the errors and voila, all MIL errors and everything was else was gone. No more errors.

I don't know if resetting the "Level Control" errors directly did it.
I doubt it, as I reset all errors too many times to remember.
Perhaps it was due to performing the 17-Steering and 1B-Active steering calibrations and then taking a test ride.
When I turned the car back on, I wasn't expecting anything (as I tried the 17-Steering calibration, but not the 1B-Active Steering basic setting), so I didn't really check if the errors were gone.

Anyway, I got my car back, and I couldn't be happier.

After the parts replace, I aligned the car again. It stays true in a straight line, but you can see the steering moving about a centimeter back and forth. It's unnerving. Like it's not settled.
I think the camber on one wheel needs attention.
I read somewhere that the camber is adjusted by shifting the subframe. I'm going to read and then take it for alignment again.

I'm having the same problem. Tried disconnecting the batt overnight to no avail. Tries resetting per scanner directions to no avail.....what can be done? Im getting code U111300 and U111200. I clear them to no avail.. Thanks

Regarding the steering angle, you're in luck. I spent 4 hours for two weeks trying to figure this out.
You need to recalibrate two modules: the steering control module and the active steering control module. They calibration is the same for both.
Set the steering angler per the instructions, and then you have to drive and completely turn to the left, advance 300 meters, and then completely turn to the right, advance 300 meters.

Ok. Just did what you suggested. Nothing changed except steering fluid got too hot and spewed from the resivoir and now I'm dizzy from spinning...lol... I tried it twice.
