The ventilation system uses the cabin's ambient temp - there's no "cooling" per se. When the cabin cools down from the AC, the seat uses a fan to circulate the surrounding air. As others have said, the seat communicates with the MMI and control modules and software coding. Going to be difficult to circumvent all of that as a stand-alone with operating functions. I suppose with enough engineering know how and money tossed at it, anything is possible.

Hi
Just to report, I´ve found that all we need is just wire the phase and ground to one 12v source with 20a and the entire seat will work...
I will post the progress here...

I will see whats happen when I found which loom report the massage functions, but probably theres is no way to change the type of massage but maybe I will be able to just turn it on and leave on in one function.
So basically I believe that if we have the lcd / seat with looms and module we can turn all on and maybe set everything as a chair...

Haha, I love these projects. Keep us updated!
I haven't sat in one of these chairs so I don't know how they operate, but can you adjust all the setting from the seat control buttons? Or do some functions ONLY go through the MMI? It would be great if you didn't have to do anything with the CAN bus to operate it.

When you get the CAN bus codes, use a Arduino to send the commands. You can build a physical control panel and LCD screen for the controls. There are tools on Sparkfun and Adafruit to make this work for you.

I will look for that, one lcd to see and control could be awesome and an amazing improvement for the project...
