Default Audi Connect vs Sirius

My Sirius subscription just expired. My Audi connect expired 18 months ago. Has anyone opted for Audi Connect instead of Sirius? One thought is that I can stream music from my phone and get the online Nav functions work the the Connect.

My understanding is that Audi connect is data-capped, which doesn't make it attractive for streaming music. It's also pretty expensive, whereas Sirius is hugely negotiable--I think we got them down to something like $5/mo for our Touareg. I'm personally not a huge fan of the Sirius compression quality so my workflow is just to download Spotify playlists to my phone when I'm in wifi coverage.

High bitrate MP3's played via the SD card sounds the best in my opinion. Bluetooth from my phone works well too. I'm not a fan of satellite radio quality 👎🏻. I'm sure the CD sounds good too. I've yet to use it but CD's are uncompressed and sound great as a format.

Yeah, I don't think it supports Flac. You can always convert to MP3 with 320 bitrate and difference is minimal.

There's also a limit to the SD card size that can be used. I think it's as low as 16 GB.

MMI manual for the 2015 A8 says max capacity is 32GB. I was having issues uploading my music back in January after I got the car, as none of my SD cards were recognized. I had to use an old 16GB microSD to upload the music.

I am using a 32 GB SD card. Third time was the charm for music format. I had read elsewhere on AW that larger cards need to be reformatted.
