No further details at this time...Looks like 'some' D4's are affected.

Got my notice last week, had an appt for my 35k service today and they are going to do my recall.

Gas-line

Had my gas line replaced 3 weeks ago. Must be from that recall.

I just received something in the mail from Audi....
I assumed it was what I had fixed back in the summer of 2018, the fuel line pump or something?

Is this not the same?

EDIT: Just spoke with a local dealer, indeed another recall. Booked in on the 19th to get it figured out. Fingers crossed for the R8 loaner car...... :D

I think that was a different recall for a similar problem. I don't think my vehicle was included at the time. The newer recall includes 2016 model year cars, the previous version only went to 2015.

Previous thread from summer 2018 is here: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a8-...a8-s8-2953558/

Got my notice last week and threw it away because I thought it was the same repair. Looks like I have to call the dealer soon...

Is this for gas only engines? Or are diesels affected also?

Go to www.audiusa.com and enter your VIN

Thank you!

Edit: I guess the answer to that question is no. No open recalls for my vehicle at this time.

Same. I wonder what the cutoff or differentiator is.

Jibsymalone 03-08-2019 04:41 AM

The only thing I can come up with is the inherent difference between the characteristics of gasoline vs diesel. Gasoline can be a lot harder on certain materials than diesel?

I received the recall notice today on my 3.0. Looks like both fuel rails to be replaced, three hour job.

Here's what it looks like once completed

that's your fuel pump located at the gas tank.
my letter indicated fuel rails which is a much different issue.

sound like your fuel pump not the fuel rails.
definitely the recalls are all different matters.
some are fuel dampers, fuel lines, fuel pressure regulators and fuel rails.

Can't say since they did it as part of my 35k service.

I was told over the phone should allow 3-5 hours.
Although I always assume they'll have my car overnight at a minimum lol

Had the recall work done yesterday. Brought it in on Tuesday, but still had too much gas in the tank for the tech to install the damper. One of the service advisors had to drive my car home and back a couple of days to burn off fuel. Make sure you have a quarter tank at maximum when bringing your car in for this recall work.
