Battery Tender
Are there any problems with hooking up a battery tender to my 2016 A8? This car sat on the lot for quite some time and with the terrible weather out here in the PNW, it is not being driven. Looking in the owners manual, I have found the posts used to jump start the car and I assume that I hook the battery tender up to those posts. Thanks everyone.

Not sure what problems you are looking for, but whenever my S8 is going to sit for over a week I hook up a battery tender to the connections under the hood. I haven't had any problems.

I switch between two cars, my 2012 A8 being one of them, at multi-month intervals. My batter tender (from Sears @ ~$35) has been indefensible. And, yes, it connects to the charging posts.

Well, there are several reasons. (1) Batteries, even when disconnected, will slowly lose its charge over time, (2) There are electronic systems in the vehicle that require to be on battery power all the time or they lose their memory, and (3) in the case of most Audis, one has to lift the front seat or go in the trunk just to connect and disconnect the battery. Quite a chore to do especially if you are in a hurry and need the vehicle immediately.

No problems at all. All newer Audi dealerships have the showroom cars hoked up to battery tenders so that features can be demonstrated to customers and leaving the DRLs on looks cool, especially at night. You can see the wires under the car.
