It's not that tricky if you know how, but if you don't know how it's a giant pain.

Chrome looks terrible. Black is so much better.

Fortunately, Audi has gotten the memo and been adding the black optics packages.

I disagree, but that's why Audi offers a choice. To cover differing opinions. I prefer the chrome to the black. Others prefer the black. It's just a matter of the look you're going for. Neither is right or wrong.

I recommend it.

The balloons I learned from this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nh-vU377_cc
Hilarious she used balloons behind those grills and did all that taping on the car-those lower BMW grills pop right out in 2 seconds.

if the D4 is anything like previous years, it's not like a BMW where you can just pull out the grill. you have to remove the entire front bumper cover to get the grill out. At least I had to on my old A6 from the mid 2000s to put on the S6 grill. was certainly NOT plug n play.

There's night vision camera, parking camera, and PDC sensors on the grill, and countless tabs and screws...

Masking and balloons took 10 mins...

That is correct. And it's a bit of fun getting all of the clips to release at once. Microscrewdrivers helped achieve that goal for me when I needed a new grill.

I lost one of the silver bars along the front of my radiator grille. Clearly it just popped off driving down the rode. Any way to find a replacement for this?

I went down the S8 plus route and bought the grille from Audi, it was about two hours to remove the front bumper to change the grille over ☹️ Must admit it really makes the car look much cooler.
