Brakes squeal CPO
2017 S8 CPO, ~11,000miles currently. Drove it 500 miles since took it from the dealership less than a week ago.
Breaks squeal when coming to a slow stop and lightly pressing them. Note that when pressed hard they do not squeal at all.
Questions:
1. Is this a problem with the brakes? Should they be replaced (with such low miles?)? Or is this the “powder” issue?
2. CPO have clean bill of health to the brakes. So if anything needs taking care off - would they cover or is it on me since I drove the car off the lot?
Thanks everyone.

BTW, you don't say location but should always include at least general description in auto sig, avatar or text. Relevant in that as a 2017 S8, in USA that will always be a Plus and then that means it could have carbon ceramic brake rotor set up. In other markets, Plus motor and also CCB's were options. If you have those, welcome to the CCB noise club and need to live with it probably. Inherent in their nature.
At 11K miles and a 2017, you would be under USA 4 yr/50K mile new car warranty, whether first or later owner. CPO is for after that one runs out. Relevant because under CPO they probably won't deal with things like noises and squeals that reclassified as modest wear and tear or quasi routine, while under 4/50 they are incrementally more accommodating, at least with the high priced models. As always, calm and friendly with the service advisor rather than hair on fire can help for these judgment call coverage situations.

My brakes
Squeal on my 2014 S8, worse when it’s cold out - it’s an annoying gremlin in an otherwise unbelievable automobile. I asked on here last winter about it and others chimed in with the same

Thanks for the response. I know about the winter/cold impact (btw - this also is the case with my E63s. Apparently German automotive may still have something to learn..)
however, what concerned me is that this is happening mid day, 95 degrees out, car is in perfect working temperature.

If conventional, bed and report back as mentioned before. After that, possible rotors have built up a film (especially with some ceramic pads) and should be scuffed up . After or with that, maybe a pad change.
FWIW, at 21K on a 2015, mine are always quiet in all conditions. All factory stock so far, and not CCB's. Will change to EBC reds in due course to tame some of the dust.

In a very similar situation...
2015 CPO S8 with 30k miles. Completely quiet on the test drive and on the drive home (>300 miles since I bought out of state). For the next 3 days it squeals loudly on every stop. Dealer I purchased from is being helpful so far. Fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

2014 S8
2014 S8 with 28,000 miles and my front brakes have been making noise for awhile now on light stops. Dealer said pads are originals and have 50% pad left. I'll be curious to learn from others on this issue.

i think we we have the exact same situation. Could you please share what your dealer is doing for you and how they’re being helpful? I assume you didn’t take the car all the way back to that dealer (would be the same challenge for me - ~200 miles from the dealership where I bought it). Thanks.
