Car broke down EPC
My car shut off in traffic with an EPC light. It would not start and I was a one man traffic jam on a bridge in rush hour. It took 40 minutes for the tow truck. Anyone else had this problem? I was lucky I had 4k left on the warrenty.

Dealer gave me an update
My dealer got back to me to tell me what went wrong. A valve was leaking fluid on the wirring harness and shorted out the ECU. The bad news is there are not any in the US or Germany and I have to wait for one to get made. It will take about 2 weeks. My dealer takes good care of me and allways give me a good loaner. But now I am scared because I only have 4K left on the warrenty and I do not want to guess what this would have cost me to pay for on my own.

Same worries are why I moved from D3 to D4.
Two years and $8,000 later, without any major issues, it was making me lose sleep at night.
I am torn on the value of extended warranties and certainly will run out of years before miles on mine.
Has me thinking harder about trading it in as that day gets closer...

As with anything, an extended warranty is great when you need it and money out the window when you don't. I am on the fence when it comes to the extended warranty.

I'm having an intermittent gearbox issue where the car basically coasts to a halt (shutdown and wait 5 mins and it'll go again). I gambled on not getting an extended warranty and am now living on borrowed time. To get the mechatronics box replaced that is faulty it will cost £4400. Yeoooowwwwww. Will somehow manage for a few months until it's time to change.
