he used black satin vinyl for the trim
35 percent tint on windows was another $400
i didn’t do back windshield as I have the retractable sun shade
I didn’t do uv tint on front windshield after the nightmare stories in this board

Yup. Chrome sucks.

Looks much better. And yes, this is they all should come from the factory.

Love the chrome and am sick of the black optic and black wheels. Everyone thinks they are Black Bart. At some point you have to give up the teen poser years

I like where you're going with it audisession, Some may really be offended by my choice in S8 (below) but after owning a few with the signature S aluminum mirrors with matching wheels, trim, etc. (my first was back in 2004), I decided that, 11 years later, it was time to roll with the changes. My first was a 2015 S4 with black optics. At first, I said "no-way", but that's pretty much all the dealership had on the lot and my salesman (who I've known a while) convinced me that I'd like it. I did. Now I'm all about black optics - so much so that I wrapped my 2015 trim and upgraded to 2016 Plus wheels. If you walk the lots of Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Dodge, Cadillac, etc. you'll find more black grills and wheels than ever. Maybe it's a trend, but I doubt it - it's been sneaking up on us for over five years. Come to think of it, I had black Fuchs on my 1986 Porsche 944 (although the rim was silver)!

BTW - indubitably, not everyone will agree with everyone's preferences. I have my opinions on color combinations, ride heights, etc. but try to keep negative opinions to myself. We're all here to share experiences with fellow Audi enthusiasts and should, therefore, respect everyone's tastes and celebrate what everyone's doing to personalize their ride.

Respectfully,

- Black Bart

That was hilarious!!!

I'm starting to wage an awareness campaign about all the shiny reflective materials used on the dash. Piano black has taken over and it sucks. It scratches easily, is highly reflective in sunlight, and is starting to look just plain cheesy.

Also, brushed aluminum is not the best choice for vertical dash panels...as I have. With the sunroof open (which mine is a LOT) and the sun overhead at the right angle, the glare is so intense I can't see the gauges!

Just my .02

Haha awesome : every car (bmw, Porsche) I have bought since 1999 I bought with the black line trim option which deletes the chrome - so not a new thing as omeletpants suggested

btw just googled black Bart
Charles Earl Boles (b. 1829; d. after February 28, 1888), also known as Black Bart, was an English-born outlaw noted for the poeticmessages he left behind after two of his robberies. Often called Charley by his friends, he was also known as Charles Bolton, C.E. Bolton and Black Bart the Poet.[1] Considered a gentleman bandit with a reputation for style and sophistication,[1] he was one of the most notorious stagecoach robbers to operate in and around Northern California and southern Oregon during the 1870s and 1880s.
