Clunking noise when backing up
Hi Guys,
ha anyone ever had a clunking noise coming from the front end ( or so i think it is) when backing up after letting the car sit for the night in cooler temps
it only happens once then fine for the rest of the day, sounds like something is about to be seized and gets unstuck. metal clunk noise.
taking it to the shop for winter tires soon, will get them to check it out.
thanks

Brakes?
i only drive my car about 6k a year. If it sits for a week or so I think the pads kid of bind themselves to rotors. When I bake up there is a moment of friction then release. The rotors also get a light coating of rust on them but that disappears within the first few brake applications

that could be possible, other than that i cant see what else could make this noise, once and done for the entire day, or until the car sites for hours.
and once it has made the noise, there is no other issues, no vibrations, wobble, noises, studder, nothing, as if my brakes or something in the steering has frozen up and by going in reverse it brakes out of the ice! ( terrible description! ) i know
