Default My 2013 S8 Twin turbo

I am considering doing the APR ECU stage 1 upgrade. They claim it will increase HP 121 with 91 octane. Has anyone done this upgrade that can confirm its accurate? APR Stage I91 AKI95 RON646 HP656 FT-LBS+121 HP @ 5,200 RPM+134 TQ @ 4,400 RPM, https://www.goapr.com/products/ecu_u...40tfsi_s8.html
Thanks!

Yes, do it. It's fantastic. It also eliminates the factory speed limiter and really wakes to the over all throttle response. You will not be disappointed. If you live in the Midwest, stop by and drive mine.

Get it, I love mine. Removes speed limiter too and the throttle response is drastically improved

Good to know! I am considering the APR ECU chipped too, not sure how much are they? How does it compare to those "Racechip" plug in?

The only drawback other than concerns about duration of engine/trans life is that with an APR tune the gas pedal acts more like an on/off switch due to the extreme turbo lag. FWIW that has been my experience with my APR tuned Golf R.

Just clarifying/curious: your observation is from D4 4.0T experience with APR, or just the R?

Just with an APR tune on my R. The on/off switch effect is annoying but the power is great.

I have yet to hear anyone complain about similar symptoms on the 4.0 tune. I do not believe this is an issue. The 4.0 suffers from very little turbo lag from what I have read. I'm sure actual users can verify. I want to tune / upgrade my supercharged 3.0 with a new intercooler, intake, & pulleys but I also don't want to void my CPO. I fear by the time my CPO expires I will be moving on to another vehicle. Ah well, my car is fast enough as it is. Really is not a good investment and closer to $3500 for what I want to do.
