Default Dash Cam

Does anyone have a dash cam in their car? I'm curious if there is a discreet way to set one up in these cars or not.

Funny you should ask! My dad showed up with two new toys....CPO 2015 S8 and a DASH Cam. It was funny watching the video! It does a loop, when the memory is used up it starts over writing the first files. Small enough but needs to be wired in more neatly.

Its about time car manufactures started putting a power port up at the top of the windshield for such devices. Switched to ignition of course LOL.

Cool, I'm looking at getting one but I don't want it to be obvious. Maryland driver's are nuts. How's it look up there and how's it powered?

BlackVue 650.

I have it in my S6, and it's great. Records front and rear, while driving and while parked.

Caught a jackass stealing iPods from my car and he is now doing 18 months in prison.

nothing fancy, just a $99 Cobra from Costco, has GPS and accelerometers and stuff to save accident footage, the output, 1080, looks pretty good.

Camera itself is small, but the mount is a chunky bugger and, due to all the sensors built into the mirror mount, it's a bit of a squeeze.
It has a small inbuilt li-ion battery, but really needs to be powered full time. As I'm nervous about tapping into any electrical systems, I'm trying slim profile 20ft USB cables run discreetly to the power supply in the trunk...

I have an Itronics ITB-100SPW, one of the dashcams you can get from Korea via Ebay sellers. I had one in my previous car so I also put one into my S8. It's small and unobtrusive from inside and outside. There's no video screen to view the video, which is fine because I only need to capture something bad onto the SD card. This is a newer ITB-100 model with WiFi so you can also use their iPhone app to view and download the videos. I just ran (clipped) the power cord all the way around the edge of the windshield, along the right side of the door jam, thru the passenger's footwell, and then into the rear 12V jack (I had to add a 12V extension cord). Some people connect into their rearview mirror electrical but I'm satisfied with this "no modifications" setup.

I haven't caught anything yet with my S8 camera, but in my previous car it saved me from an insurance claim when I was hit by the person parallel parking in front of me. She said it was my fault and some taxi guy driving buy also claimed he witnessed the whole thing and that it was my fault. In the end, their insurance accepted responsibility minutes after viewing the video that shows me stopped for several seconds as she continues to back up into me. This happened only about a month after getting the dashcam, so I was pretty happy with the unit.

I have a dash cam, but I just saw that I don't have any pics.

But I have the same dash cam another car and here is a sample of the video I took from a run we had a few weeks ago.

I'll try to get a pic when I get home.
