I have a 2011 A8. The whistling noise from the drivers door starts at about 90kmh and gets louder up to about 120kmh. I have tried chalk and masking tape to identify the problem, but nothing seems to change it.

I drove this car 3,000km across Australia when I first bought it, and it had no such problem. I have taken it to the dealer who has re-aligned the door, which made no difference.

The noise is driving me crazy. I will be really happy to hear of any solution.

I've seen people test for seal leaks using a spray bottle with 1 part dish soap to 2 parts water. Simply turn your car on with the AC fan on high and close the doors, roof, and windows. The slightly higher pressure inside the car will push air out of the defective seal. So when you spray the window/door seals with the soap solution you should be able to see bubbles where the air is escaping.

This shouldn't cost very much and would be very simple to try.

To clarify, you spray the solution from the outside.

I had this issue on my 2012 Audi A8L and the dealer readjusted the door alignment and the noise is now gone.
