Thanks for the heads up. Considering how often the people on this board probably crack the hood I hope that we'd be able so see this issue a mile away. Here's the text from the recall page on audiusa.com for my VIN:

Holy smoke (pun intended), this happened to mine! I talked to my local dealership about it in March. There was a rubber/plastic smell coming from under the hood. I opened things up and the rubber seal (that seals the engine compartment against the hood when it is closed) had fallen off right above one of the turbo assemblies. The seal is now cracked and slightly deformed. Per my dealership, it is not covered under warranty and they quoted me some outrageous estimate. I declined and made a make shift repair myself. I'd love to get this fixed permanently.

Damn dude! Glad you caught that one. You gotta tell me how much they wanted for that. I'm seeing $120 online.

If my memory is correct, it was over $300. I'm going to wait for my next visit and see if I can get it replaced for free with the above referenced information.

Should be done for free at the Dealer since it is a safety recall.

Well to be more clear it looks like someone at some point literally cut mine and left a 1.5 inch gap at the are closest to the windshield. I'm not sure they will cover this since someone messed with it to I think make it fit better?
