Engine problems
so I bought a 15 4.0 on Saturday with 20k on the odo.
day after I bought it - no joke - epc, cel and rev limited. I’d done 6 miles.
it’s been at the dealer and after longer than I’d have wished they say it’s a camshaft actuator.
parts on order...
So was I unlucky, or is this a common problem?
Are there any other gotchas? It’s a used Audi. I expected electrical issues, not engine problems...

Not a good way to start.
I'm just at one year into my first Audi product and can't say that I'm that impressed with the quality of the car.
I'm fortunate that mine have been small things but I've probably been at the dealer as much with this car as I was with my last BMW's so I'm not sure what badge will be in the garage next.

I expected electrical issues - I mean they are famous for it - but this wasn't anything I'd considered.
I've only ever had two cars with engine issues. Both bought used. Both VAG. Both camshaft related (bolts on the VR6 backing out was the other).
Hmm - maybe there's a pattern emerging.
