Engine Trouble Code While Away from Home
Any way to read trouble codes without a scanner?
I'm 150 miles from home and got a check engine light today. Won't be home until Sunday.
I assume it's oxygen sensor related as I'm on my second tank of "Yamalube Ring Free" at 0.5 oz to gallon of fuel (overdose of PEA plus some unknown ingredients). Car runs fine, but I'd like to be sure I'm ok to drive home.

If it's just a solid light I wouldn't worry about it too much. I threw a code 18 hours from home and with no repair shops within hours. I carry a reader on trips and it was just for an O2 sensor. I figured it was from the low quality 91 octane fuel that was available. Once I filled with 93 in a busy area the code went away and didn't come back. Don't sweat it too much and have a great trip!

Yes. It's a solid light. I was mainly just curious if there was a way to read codes without a scan tool. I'll check it out this evening when I get home. Thanks for the responses.
