Unicorn. You likely need to find the show car. It would have been an Audi Exclusive special build. If you pay the $$$$--approx. $4,000 for paint at the time IIRC--you could get any color painted on any Audi. Once or twice I have come across those kind of cars in searches, though not red specifically in an S8. Vaguely recall an early year D4 W12 that was red and sat on AutoTrader forever. If the title history says Micihigan at the start, that's a clue it may have been a manufacturer car--either executive type one or other special order on some of those.
Order pages from post- and pre- S8 Plus below. Basically, if you want boring standard colors suitable for a luxobarge and the German competitors, no worries. You want pop, Audi basically says buy an A3...or one off special order.
maskinut, I did see one on eBay around four months ago. It was a "blood" red color, so there is at lease one out there. It sat on eBay for quite some time, IICC.

Now, the big question is this, how has this been treated? It's coming from VW/Audi as a fleet car.
Did it sit on a stage or was it thrashed on the track for press?
FWIW, a few times I found newer Audis that would seem to trace back to USA exec use--registration in MI was a definite further clue there as I mentioned earlier. 18,000 miles is obviously more than just getting carted around the show circuit as another scenario. The Audi corporate ones I found a few times (first entry and state of registration on CarFax for what I saw) would be these one off special order colors or interiors too. Audi of America is nominally in Herndon VA these days IIRC, so you might also see VA title history I guess.
