getting tmobile sim card to work
I just received a free sim car from T-Mobile and installed it in my S8. I currently pay $30.00 per month thru Audi and figured $10.00 thru T-Mobile is a better deal. The card installs easily but wont activate. Just get a google maps wont be updated warning. Under settings the APN and password and user are blank, can anybody offer solutions on how to get the sim card to start working?
thanks

I work for att and I didn't even know our cars take sims. (New to forum) but it would depend on the what plan you have. I would assume a $10 plan is a data only plan as phone related plans are normally more expensive. I'm not sure exactly what T-Mobile plan your on but I would play with the rate plans and do a trial and error systematic approach.
Normally an individual $30 plan is a data only plan and if that's the case normally the $10 data only tablet add on should work... so I guess without knowing any specifics it's hard for me to help. I'd try providing T-Mobile with your cars IMEI or serial number....
If you don't know it try to take the dealer sim out and have them look up that sims info and essentially copy and paste that profile and settings onto your $10 sim

I've read where the standard T-Mo sim will not work in an Audi as T-Mo expects it to be used in a tablet or phone. You can try these two APNs. User and PW should be left blank.
The APN for 3G T-Mo Audi Connect sims is:
m2m.t-mobile.com
The generic 3G T-Mo APN:
epc.tmobile.com

Hmm. I thought the only T-Mo plans available from Audi Connect were either $25 per month, $199 for 12 months or $450 for 30 months. Not sure how you received a plan direct from them for $10 per month.
