Default Hello! (& Some Questions)

Hi all-

New member here. I picked up a used 2013 A8L 3.0 in phantom black/black still under factory warranty. So far, I am loving the car. Plenty of room and power.

I do have some questions that hopefully members can chime in on.

1st, what do you guys do if your state requires a front license plate? My car does not have the bracket and the dealer lists it for nearly $200. I have found some on amazon or ebay for $10 that are universal for flat bumpers...any experience with these and it is worth it?

Also, the steering seems a bit too firm/tight in both comfort and dynamic. I drove a new A5 and it was much more fluid and lighter. Any thoughts?

Finally, any mechanical issues that you guys are aware of that this model may be prone to? I would like to look into them specifically to make sure my car is good on that end.

Thank you all for any input!

Welcome to the club! My A8 also came without the front license plate holder. I've decided to play dumb and not put one on. Cops are pretty lenient around here though. If you decide to put one on I'd but the correct plate holder from the dealer. Steering will be different between the 2013 A8 and the new A5. 2013 A8 still has hydraulic power steering. The facelift A8's and I suspect the newer A5's have electric power steering. Different feel. But it might be worth having the alignment checked. Bad alignment can make the steering heavy.

As far as mechanical problems go they are pretty reliable cars. Read through this forum and you'll find that there aren't many issues.
