Help the Newbie
Good day all,
I just picked up my 2013 S8 on Friday and I love it.
However being that this is my first real high tier car I would appreciate any and all advise anyone could offer. I have read through most of the posts in this section and learned some very neat tricks but I'm still wondering if there are any basic things that car aficionados consider so basic they might not even post.
One question I have in mind specificity is how important the "break in" period is, because being that I just picked it up it is quite tempting to play around a bit with the acceleration.
Thank you again for any help you can offer .

Engine break-in is critical to set the cylinder rings correctly. This impacts oil consumption efficiency. It's in the owner's manual for a reason. Additionally, your car is a very complex machine, so I'd advise giving the owner's manual and the Navigation/MMI manual a thorough read.

I agree. Your owners manual is the ultimate source. Sometimes relying on the service department isn't good as they are responsible for so many models and may provide incorrect advice.

Thank you for your reposes.
I have since read the owners manual cover to cover and there was quite a lot of useful information.
Lucky because of my work I drive a lot, so I already have over 700 miles on the car, and am almost done with the 1,000 break in period.
Once again thank you for the quick and helpful responses.
