Default "High" mileage 2016 S8+ - things to look for and future value?

You guys have been very helpful so here is another question. Considering a 2016 S8+, 11 months old with 21K miles. I'm told mostly highway but who knows - and I'm told mint condition but won't know until I get there.

The question for you guys is how negative is the high mileage, how negative if they were rough city miles and not highway and what should I look for, in any, in particular.

Also trying to figure out how much impact the miles will have on future market value. If it's relevant, I'll probably sell it when the warranty runs out in 3 years and definitely not keep it more than 5 years. I'll put on 7500/year so 45K as a 4 y/o car and almost 60 as a 6 year - doesn't seem out of the ordinary, but what do you think.?

Highway miles are the best miles. Least stressful on the vehicle.

Totally agree. But tough to verify the claim.

Sounds right to me. Who puts on 21k in 11 months in city driving? I don't think someone with a new S8 is driving for Uber.

True - but there are clues. Take a wheel off the front & measure the brake pads. If those are mostly hwy miles there should be 80% or more pad left.

Take a look at the brake condition. If the has had mostly highway miles you should have a lot of meat left on them.

I wouldn't sweat the miles too much. Take a close look at the driver's seat as a clue for truth of story line. Lot's of in and out will put more creases early on into the outside bolsters. Lots of long highway miles, not so much. I saw it when I looked at a 15K year old S8 that looked somewhat beat compared to the fresher one I bought.

As others said too, look at brakes, especially front. S8 brakes are pricy, and rotors can wear sooner than you might guess.

Check the wear pattern on the front tires, excessive wear on the outside edge indicates the driver was harder on the car. That said, you'd have to drive pretty hard habitually to cause real issue with that low mileage of a car.

Regarding the worn drivers seat, that could also be a sign of a fat slob being the first owner...

I have S8 Plus also, 19k miles already, nothing wrong entire time, service at 10k miles only and adding gas.
I am very hard on my cars, frequently getting it to 15-160mph and braking hard on ramp from that to 0 (commute at 4AM on a Tollway, no cops around).
Still original pads (CCBs), tires to be replaced fairly soon ( 7k miles done on Winter tires).
Car is bulletproof, I'm not able to break it (as I did in similar time frame with SL65 and CLS63).
