I have an Audi a8l 2005 model. My problem is it will not crank however the instruments light up. Battery was checked registered at 12.5 volts. Please advise

This is the forum for those produced between 2010 and now, the D4. You may want to post this question in the D3 forum, which covers your generation. It would also be of benefit to include your country and which engine you have to make sure advice is most applicable to your car. All that aside, my first guess is a faulty brake switch, but more symptoms would be needed to get a proper diagnosis. Also, the first thing anyone else is going to ask about is a VCDS scan, the most thorough diagnostic software available for the model. The software and cable are best acquired here from Rosstech's website, and cost $199. Those on ebay or amazon are fakes that will not function.
