looking at to similar A8 - Night vision or Luxury Pkg?
Hi folks,
I've recently seen to similar A8s, that have small differences between them but wanted to get people's insights as to which they feel would be "better". Both are 2014 models, the same engine, Premium Package, Driver Assist Pkg, panoramic sunroof and come with a full maintenance history and both have new tires and brakes (rotors/pads). But here's how they differ:
#1 - 25K more miles, Night Vision pkg
#2 - $2.5K more, Luxury pkg (Alcantara Headliner, Valcona, leather seats w/diamond stitching, and Dual Pane Acoustic & Break-Resistant Glass)
Both a 1 owner vehicles and being sold by Audi dealers, so are in good shape overall. Essentially it's comes down to miles vs. $$ and Night Vision vs. Luxury package

Night vision is useful for some particularly if you drive in deer country. I have it but the detection highlighting isn’t working and I haven’t run a scan to troubleshoot. The detection features are better in the 2015 MY.
The double pane glass is an option I wish I had. I think I would choose the lux pkg with dbl. pane glass.

appreciate the feedback so far, so it appears the consensus is that Luxury > Night Vision. I've been leaning that was as well, since I've never hit a deer or other animal driving at night where I live, even though we do get a lot of deer and the occasional bear, I've never had a close encounter in my vehicle.

Looking at my window sticker and 2015 brochure, it doesn't appear that the double pane, acoustic glass is an option for the S8. I can't imagine Audi not taking the opportunity to promote this if it was standard, so I'm guessing no. Can anyone confirm this?

This post, like many others, raise more questions as I continue learn about my 2015 S8. It's my nature to satiate my curiousity. Anyway...
