Loud, intermittent "noise" heard outside car ....
... while driving at speed on roadway. It's hard to describe as it's between a buzz and a hissing sound; sort of like high-pressure air venting. I hear it bounce off jersey walls when window open, or tree canopy overhead when sunroof open. Lasts 10-20 seconds, then goes away for a few minutes, then repeats.
Any ideas what this might be appreciated!

Geez.......havn't heard that one before BUT my 2105 4.0 makes an interior noise, like muted jingle bells, for about 10 seconds then it goes away. Returns 3-4 times on a hour-long trip. Strictly interior. Dealer thinks I'm hearing things, of course...but my wife has heard it too!

check your sunroof
did you find the problem. I think it is the sunroof making the noise. possible wind deflector motor trying to raise the wind deflector but sort of failing or something like that. is the problem when you have the sunroof open. the only other noise I've heard in my car is the 6 disc cd player can't make its mind up and is trying to reshuffle cds or something like that
