From what I read it’s recommended to use a OEM cable for this, which is fine, if it will do what I’m looking to do. So my question is, when connecting my iPhone X via this cable will I be able to screen mirror and have either wazes or Apple maps show on the MMI if I run from the iPhone? I’m fine with Bluetooth connections for music apps but the mapping system leaves a lot to be desired and I much prefer Wazes for navigation. Thoughts?

+1 on Dean P comments. Also know that you would need to turn off BT audio on the telephone setup, otherwise you will get messages about duplicate BT audio source connections in the media screen. Waste of money IMHO. I recommend all telephone and audio going wireless through BT and use a cigarette style adapter to charge your phone.

to screen mirror Waze etc i use a hdmi adapter that in turn goes to a rca box that then connects to the mmi

Thanks for the comments and direction! Updating the NAV doesn’t seem to be easy/if even possible without spending a ton of money so figured going phone to MMI would be better anyway since Wazes is a better platform.

does Waze still work while driving? Or do I need to then Disable video in motion? Hoping not but before I buy all the cables want to confirm it will still work while driving
