Default MMI Update for 2011 A8 with Rear Entertainment

I believe the software I need is part number 8R0 906 961 CL. The current MMI shows:

HN+R_US_AU_P0225

Which I believe is VERY old.

Can somebody confirm the part number and more importantly, does anyone actually have the firmware available?

Thanks!

I've also been looking into this. From what I've learned you have to update both front and rear MMI at the same time. I haven't been able to determine what part#'s to use or whether or not it can be activated without a factory scan tool.

I believe that the part number that I have is correct and as far as I know, having read an associated TSB, no activation is required. The front needs to be completed first prior to upgrading the rear. Activation is only required for map upgrades.

Talked to dealer about the process and it's 2.2 shop hours of cost/time for both front and rear systems.

2.2 hours for a firmware update. Lovely. It's silliness like that which prevents Audi from having a wider appeal...the expectation that you need to bring a tube of Astroglide every time you visit a dealer.

It's a quick 20 mins for a car without a rear seat entertainment setup. The 2.2 hours is apparently waiting for the software to do its thing and doesn't require a tech to monitor the car during the process. They said I'll probably get charged an hour of shop time but prepare to leave the car for the full process at my next oil change.
