let me start with cons:

a) touch screen is horrible. Really really bad. They should have left one rotary **** as backup. Example : when you go to change temp, a few mins later seat is warm and you realize as your finger slid down it also touched seat heater icon.

B) every piece of dirt and finger print shows horrible.

C) massage function is hidden behind 3 menus - no more direct access from the seats

D) Adjusting Audio tone is hidden behind 3 menus

E) Factory 20” wheels are so far tucked in a so wimpy looking a Toyota Avalon looks more aggressive

F) The design : externally it no longer looks like a distinctive flag ship car - too much chrome- grille looks like q7, new a4 and new a6. Basically looks like a stretched a6.

G) The dynamic cruise control: the traffic sign recognition will automatically slow the car down - eg I set out on highway and set it to 68mph. It reads a traffic sign that says 55. It will slow me down to 55 interrupting flow of traffic as everyone is going 65-70mph. At one time it read a off ramp sign that was too close to the highway at 30mph and slammed me down to 30mph while I was on the highway going 70.

H) Fake exhaust - yup.

The pros:

1. Better ride control and suspension than d4. Car feels more nimble and planted at speed.

2. Ion and air freshener built into climate control - cabin smells fresh all the time and I smell no external exhaust

3. Base stereo is now B O and blows away the Bose on d4

4. Massage function is better than d4

5. Softer headrests - when you lean back your head feels enveloped in plush pillows - I hate the D4 hard headrests

6. Wireless airplay and wireless charging









In summary : touchscreen implementation is poor. They need to implement a modification to the dynamic cruise traffic sign integration

if they fix that I would buy next gen s8

You can change the feedback on the touchscreen so that you have to click to avoid accidentally turning on the seat heater. To access the massage, just touch the seat on the touch screen. To adjust tone, touch the gear icon when you go to adjust volume.

Took mine in for the fuel rail recall. They gave me a 2019 A6. It was terrible on th inside. Love mine way more.
