Yup, looks like the real deal. We should see pricing out very soon.
BTW, seems the A8 now has electro-mechanical steering in place of the hydraulic set up.

So, as of March 19 (Rev. 1.5), this PIB makes no mention of upgrading the Audi Connect feature to 4G/LTE. Hope they see fit to upgrade this soon. It just seems unbelievable that they would let their flagship vehicle stay with the old 2G/3G technology while the 2015 A3 gets the 4G/LTE! It's not like they didn't upgrade or change other electronic packages on the 2015 A8.

Default Marginal trunk change; 4.0T gets more interesting...

Interesting to finally see they "how to" description on where they squeezed out a little more space. Not a lot, but I guess the best they can find for a cosmetic refresh rather than the full model re-spin.

Like what I'm reading (and was expecting) on the 4.0T. HP supposedly up 15 (though I suspect that may be a Euro PS spec) and no torque change reported, yet 0-60 accel. time on NWB down from 4.7 to 4.3, and mileage from 17/28/21 to 18/30/22. Bigger claimed step up on LWB from 16/26/19 to 18/29/22. To me the 0.4 sec. drop is a lot more than 15 HP (and especially no torque increase). They closed a bunch more of the gap to the S8, something I have focused on in weighing an NWB vs. S8 quasi side by side. They also show the regular 4.0T as just as fast as the W12 LWB to LWB.

They don't reference cylinder on demand for anything but the W12, but the S8 already has it per the current Audi USA site, and the regular 4.0T was supposed to get it with the refresh per the Audi AG original announce. Leads me to suspect the some of the content quality/substance on the PIB, as I have seen in recent years w/ the Q5 as well.

Default Not a big fan, but interesting they are in Tesla denial in PIB...

Didn't appear in the competitive chart, but here in Silicon Valley car fashion du jour, the Tesla is obviously what is eating all of the German road iron's lunch. Hardly see any new D4's on the road from month to month (or big Merc or Bimmer sedans). Yet the Tesla is all over the place these days, including even migrating to some soccer moms. Fancy car brands and models here tend to go in fads though, so not sure it will stick.

Not for me, but if anything maybe keeping the Audi dealers a little more on their toes.

My understanding is that North America also gets 435-hp, not just Euro-spec. Also, the A8 4.0T already has cylinder-on-demand. From the 2014 AoA press release:

"The S8 and A8 4.0T feature the innovative Audi cylinder on demand technology that deactivates four of the eight cylinders at lower loads, reducing fuel consumption by up to 10 percent at moderate highway speeds. When the V8 engine switches to four-cylinder mode, the active engine mounts remove any changes in vibration and the active noise cancellation system negates undesirable changes in engine and exhaust sound."

I believe the PIB is referencing a model point change for the A8 W12.
