Purchased a 2013 A8, have been lurking the forum for a little while, hope to get some great support From this site. Not my first A8 but my first D4 gen.

first thing is some Vag com mods..

searching it looks like there is no Mod to keep MMI screen in open position? saw one about cutting a wire, is this true or?

The only way to keep it open would be to cut a wire. But why would you want to?

+1, likely true can only be done with the wire cut mod. What some D3 owners have been doing in last couple years when screen motor chokes, and no known way there with VCDS. But that is like 7-10 years in. I rebuilt the gears on my 2006 W12 and it was/is back to smooth as ever.
