Default Night Vision Problem

I noticed last night that both the person indicator and the audible warning are both toggled off in the upper right hand portion of the screen.
When I go into set-up through the MMI, they both are set to on.
Any ideas or is it off to the dealer?

Just went into garage and looked at car. The two indicators also have the deactivated line through them, although both pedestrian warning functions are activated in the MMI. Wondering if this is due to the air temp being over 77 degrees---where the system is deactivated. Will have dealer check it tomorrow.

Where did you read about 77 degrees? It has been hot here.

No problem. We're here to help one another :-). I'm going to look at how it functions this evening, outside of the garage.

Big Hank...

The outside temp finally dropped to the level where the Night Vision warnings are now back to being activated. Had the car out tonight and the system highlighted a few bicyclists within the yellow caution box. The outside air temp sensor read 73 degrees.

IMHO the thought process by the audi engineers was good, but flawed.. what about warm weather areas like Fort Lauderdale. Does this means night vision is rendered virtually useless for 8-10 months of the year?

Derf, thanks for the heads up, as I had my A8 configured with this option originally.

Cad - YES, it is basically a novelty for So Florida. I've had 2 instances with pedestrians in the roadway in pitch dark this summer with no night vision warning. Not a malfunction, as Derf pointed out.

The high beam LED's are definitely more practical in low visibility situations (hopefully you ordered the full LED headlights)

I imagine the night vision is more useful in northern US and Europe and less so in Southern US, Asia and Mideast.

BigG..I'm just curious, how does the front camera work, is there a button (for lack of better term..as i dont see many buttns) that activates it and actually shows the road ahead of you in black and white like the merc system. In other words will the front cameras work independent of the infrared cameras or are they one in the same.
