No Air From Passenger Side Vent?
#11
Got mine back, same exact thing. AC motor failure at 39k miles.. that's a weird little gremlin that jumped up and bit me in the a**. AC works great now but it makes me wonder if this is how it's gonna be from now on..

Mine just stopped working. Luckily, I recently purchased an extended service plan which looks to cover it.
My left rear sun shade randomly stopped going all the way down. It will motor up and down but stop just as it passes the door that covers it. I think it may just need adjustment. Anyone else have this issue?

OP, It looks like I have the same problem as you (no air from outboard passenger vent). Since your repair fixed it, was it the same PN as listed previously? I'm hoping to DIY, since my 2013 is outside warranty. The defroster motor you mentioned sounds different from the vent assy PN.

I took my car in and they replaced the motor for the vent but I still had intermittent operation. I took it back and they found the actual control arm that opens and closes the vent was broken. They are replacing it for free since they misdiagnosed the original issue.

Bring this tread back up. My new to me '14 had no air coming from the passenger vent. I took it apart using this video:
you only need to go as far a dropping the glove box. The vent and motor are held in place by two plastic rivets on the upper side. If you remove a third rivet holding the small duct on the right side you can access one rivet. The other can be seen from underneath. They have torq heads. Don't let that fool you, they don't unscrew, just pry them out.
The problem seems to be that the motor that runs the flaps is a stepper motor. It has a plastic stop which prevents it from going too far. The stop was broken off on mine. Once that happens the control plate rotated too far, allowing the small pins that run in tracks on the plate to come out of the track. Once this happens they can never get back into position.
The part was $156.
