No, it's not normal. You should get it checked out.
Also check to see if your car has had all the recalls done as there was at least one coolant related.

Yep, and I think there was a TSB on the thermostat housing.

I just found my paperwork from Jan, 2021. There were never any noticeable leaks that I observed, just the smell of antifreeze in my garage. Part of the repair states, "Addressed concern as per TSB #2048936/2". Let me know if you'd like me to post the entire sheet.

Yes it would help.. when i take it, i will have them check it out.. it should show itself once a pressure test is done...I only noticed it because I just recently started driving it more than my normal.. it's not my daily driver..

Under CPO warranty, otherwise I think it would have been billable. I don't think TSB items are free, just recommended updates in the event of a failure - so billable.

When I started the engine of my S8 today (Modell 2017, 50'000 miles) a red warning regarding a low coolant level appeared in the FIS. In fact, the coolant level was far below the minimum mark. I remember that I already had to add some coolant about 4 months ago. But at that time the coolant level was just slightly below the minimum.
After I topped up with coolant/distilled water about 1.5 liter and drove about 20km, the coolant level remained unchanged and no loss of coolant was apparent in the engine compartment or under the car.
It is worth mentioning that in the days before the car was parked, I had used the parking heater for the first time after a long time. Could there be a link between the coolant loss and the parking heater? Where should I start looking for a leak?
