Default Painting plastic trim on wheels

Saw these and I would like to paint the chrome accent on my wheels black like these

does the chrome piece come out - by screwing it out or popping it out ?

There is a single screw, I think hex or torx holding the plastic piece in. You remove the screw and the piece tilts out. I painted mine with a similar goal. I used Anthracite Plasti-dip which can be peeled off at a later date. It would be a little harder to get gloss black, but there is flat black to which you can respray with plastidip glossifier, but I have never been able to get a smooth finish. Just be careful unscrewing the pieces, if you mess up the threads, its hard to get them to remain seated. Also, you can get another wheel, but I dont believe they sell the plastic parts between the spokes.

Here are a couple of pics of my wheels.

My car has a tool kit with the spare that contains a tool for removing the caps. I assumed you insert the end and pull off the cap. I have not tried it, so I am not certain.

I think you will need to take the wheels off. I had my winters on when I painted mine.

thx was afraid of that - I keep my seasonal wheels at the tire dealer to swap every year so no chance.

I think I'm going to just change my wheels - I was thinking one of the following:

(A)

(B)

(C)

(D)
