Parking Brake Setting Itself
My parking brake has recently been setting itself. Even though it is not set when the vehicle is shut down, it shows set during the next start cycle. It has been happening the last day or so. I only occasionally use it. I searched the operating manual under electronic parking brake but could not find anything. Being an OF, I probably set it and then forgot that I did. Does anyone have any insight for me on this? Is there the ability to have it auto set on shut-down? Thanks in advance.

So here is what I think happened.....upon entering my garage and stopping, the auto start / stop system shut off the engine. I probably opened the door with the car still in drive and the parking brake auto set. I then realized that I had not shut off the ignition and turned the car off. When my wife later went to drive the car, she noticed the parking brake was set and I was totally confused because I did not recall manually setting the brake. The internet is a great resource.....I truly am an OF. That is a great safety feature for sure.

yep, that's exactly what it was. I found this out the other day, was at a drive thru and dropped something with the car in drive. Opened the door and it put on the brake.
