I have been looking everywhere for the perfect iPhone holder for my S8 and I finally found it! I am able to see the screen right through the steering wheel while driving. I use the Waze App to locate Speed Traps and the location is perfect for this mount. The best part is, it removes fairly easy when you unlock the suction clip. Is anyone else out there using this?

I'm looking for something like this, but I believe that your location is a little low for me. The lower it is, the further my line of sight is from the road. I think something that is about as high as the left A/C vent or right next to the MMI screen would be optimal for me.

My only concern is the knee airbag.

Airbags have always been a concern of mine when it comes to placing an iPhone or similar device in the view of the driver. I too use Waze, and love that app. But I've always been afraid to attempt any dash mounting for fear of the dangers posed during an airbag deployment.

I think BMW has the best approach, with their iPhone snap-in adapters for the center armrest. Yes, the phone will be out of view... but its much safer than on the dash, and it's quicker and easier to connect than the Audi AMI cable.

I think up high is a better spot, as long as the police don't care too much in your area.

Very nice. Can the Audi A8 play movies from the factory or is that a modification? I am looking to purchase a 2012 in the near future.

You will need the VAG COM to enable this. Without it, the video screen goes blank when you start to roll.

I made this Q7 mount - I can't find other Audis it works in though. What is nice is that it pops in and out with no car mods.

That location would scare the heck out of me with the A-pillar airbag. In a side or front collision, you're going to have an iPhone shot at you at 200mph.
