Question about air filtration and auto-recirculate
One thing that I don't care for on my A6 is that the auto-recirculate feature doesn't seem to work very well. I have adjusted the settings in the MMI, but it seems that the diesel fumes always seem to find their way in the car. Isn't auto-recirculate supposed to come on automatically?
Is it any better on the A8? When I had my previous luxury imports, they seemed to be more effective.
What is your experience with the A8. My former Lexus LS did an excellent job of keeping the cabin smelling fresh.

There is a setting in MMI for the auto-recirc but can't seem to find it in the manual right now.
I leave mine off and it does a very good job filtering outside smells.
Not quite as good as the D3 was for some unknown reason, but still good.
Seems the only time I've ever used it that I can recall is driving for two hours through smoke from a brush fire.

Scott, this has been covered previously. Bottom line is that the Audi system doesn't work nearly as well as some of the competition. Don't know about Lexus, but the BMW's auto-recirc works as one would expect. I don't think the Audi system is as sophisticated.
