On my 2013 A8L there is an option in the MMI to lower the shade when the car goes into reverse. It goes back up when the car starts driving again but only after it hits a certain speed.

The problem is that when parking, I often reverse and then park but don't get up to the speed to have it raise again. When I turn off the car the shade stays down and remains down. The shade is most useful when the car is parked to keep the heat out.

Any suggestions other than disabling the auto shade?

My S6 had a similar issue. On my last dealer visit there was a Comfort & Convenience Module update that seems to have solved it. I'm sure there's something similar out for the A8 as well.

I have the same option on my '12 A8L. I have not played with mine but I believe it is tied into the parking censors. Try turning off the parking censors before shutting off the car. That should get the shade to raise again.

Just hit the shade button to raise it manually.

There is a setting in mmi to auto lower the shade when in reverse. I don’t remember where I saw thus setting.
