Its one of the few cars that I have to think well ahead of me, to ensure someone isn't going to be in my path when I'm doing 60 from a light or merging on a highway.

Now if I lived in Texas/Oklahoma this wouldn't be as much of an issue, but in Santa Monica, it's a challenge. I think I've only floored it 2-3 times in 2,500 miles.
It isn't always about driving fast. Sometimes it's just knowing that you have that kind of power on tap.

Many buy Audi's because they tend to be understated. Just because you have a very capable vehicle doesn't mean you need to do jack rabbit starts from every traffic light.

Nope, there's no reason to floor it from every light. Simply stating it has been a challenge finding enough open space to drive it hard once in a while.

I would classify myself as one of the owner's who purchased this vehicle because it is understated. This vehicle allows me to come and go from work without screaming "look at me", and still put a smile on my face each time I drive it. Only other vehicle I've owned that did that was an 08' S65, which is not subtle.

Put the S8 in Individual Mode and set everything to Dynamic, roll down the windows, set to manual shift, turn the music off...Enjoy! Smile will be put on face instantly!

Since they don't post the manual online, I can't check for myself, but I assume they detail the impact of each of the subset areas that you can switch into dynamic. Do they? Sometimes it can be hard out what the real difference is when playing around with settings like that and my recollection is that the list of parameters to adjust is long. That's a good thing, of course, but a guide would be helpful.

I am new to the forums. I took euro delivery of a 2013 S8 in April and 2 weeks ago receive the car from my local dealer.
Is the S 8 to much for the USA, absolutely !
I drove the S8 3600 miles, mostly in DE, in 20 days. I was pissed that the car was speed limited to 155 mph.
186 mph would have been sweet. The car cruises effortless at 150 and then creeps to the 155 limit.
In the USA, thank god there is no laws for getting to the speed limit to fast!
