Every 45k-ish miles. $1000-$2000 depending on who is doing it, where you get parts, etc.

Default I have 2011 A8 4.2

@ codydemmel4 I bough 2011 A8 4.2 in January. I have 2013 A8L with supercharged 3.0 and now 4.2. The car have 80k, first you do not know if previous owner was filling it up wit proper octanes gas, I would advise to take her for a check of intake valves when they take the sparks out you will find out in what shape sparks are. Typical cleaning will run you about 1400 (price depend how dirty they are and how much shop will charge per hour) mine were super dirty.. have pics uploaded on one of the threads on here. Second I would change HPFP if the fuel was not the best quality those pumps will fail due to the fact there is rubber elements inside. I bought mine at genuineaudiparts.com I think I paid something around 900 for both. (of course ppl will say you do not have to change them till they fail but those pumps are running off of cams and if you could put less stress on the engine with new parts then better in my opinion). I bought NGK sparks on rockauto.com that was cheap and easy fix as preventive measure. Air filters are a must so it is about $110. I just change breaks on it (super easy to do) because mine has sport package i have 380X36 I paid on europapart.com $270 per rotor ( Zimmermann) add ceramic pads it will run you with shipping about $600 (if you are doing it yourself). My 2013 A8L was only $300 with ceramic pads and Zimmermann rotors. Only issue I had with the car and decided to fix under my extended warranty was upper oil pan leak. For that the whole engine has to be dropped. Other than that car is solid and the way power is delivered is beautiful. My RPM's red line at 7k and the car has beautiful strong delivery between 3k and 6.5k. That's my few cents about the car.
