So to be honest, I don't think the incremental change works very well and involves a core safety system for car. Thus I don't really feel comfortable in this specific case doing a write up. The quoted reply tells you where to look if you want to pursue it. Another poster did it and thought it was better. To be clear, in both of those cases, our vehicles already had the system and all the hardware. Thus it was limited to a question of enabling a feature that holds it more toward center of the lane rather than only correcting as it gets very close to the lane markers. The tweak is referred to as "Early" compared to the default settings which is "Late." With the mod, the choice shows up in MMI in a menu.

Thank you.

Is it possible to adjust the touch turn signal from 3 to 5 blinks on the D4?

I was also looking around in the night vision module today and see that we can change the color and shape of the pedestrian markings. Anyone do this yet? I'm planning on the the headlight tuning and messing with the pedestrian settings tonight.

AFAIK, you can't change # of blinks, but try an (extended) search across different Audi models just in case.

Dealer happened to update MMI s/w on my 2015 after I complained about some Nav related tracking and screen freeze issues. One nice byproduct is the night vision warnings/symbols seem to have become more prominent than they were originally. It affected the HUD related display of them IIRC.

........

I have some fiddling with VCDS to do, I'm sure that there's more to find. I will provide updates when I find anything new.
Note: Thanks to kczach for the starting point

Has anyone figured out how to activate "Automatic High Beam Assist" in our US A8's?

My 2012 A8L has: LED Headlights, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, side assist, pre-sense plus, and night vision, so I think I've got all the necessary equipment to make it work.

Over on the Ross-Tech forum, I found a few data file outputs from folks with D4's. Does this entry help in deciphering where to make the tweaks?

Address 20: High Beam Assist. (J844) Labels:. 8K0-857-511.clb

I think the high beam assist rolled out in 2013 as a part of an assist package. I know on my 2014 it exists as a wiper stalk function and I didn't have to do anything to enable it. You may be out of luck if it is tied to hardware.

I believe you are correct Zed, but in the context of the US market.

High-beam assist has been available on the D4 A8 since the 2010 model year, but not in the US.
Check page 47 of this 2010 UK A8 Brochure: https://www.audi.co.uk/content/dam/a...20Jan%2010.pdf

Order code: PX2: "All-LED headlights including high-beam assist. LEDs for all front lighting functions. Total of 54 LED light sources in each headlight provide lower energy consumption and enhanced contrast with a colour similar to daylight. Also includes high-beam assist which automatically adjusts headlights from high-beam to dipped-beam when another vehicle is approaching"

This makes me believe that my MY2012 does have the hardware, but the option was disabled for the US market, probably due to some law. I'm betting this can be switched on via the VAG-COM somehow.

Here is a guy with a newer A4 that figured out how to do it: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a4-...-plus-2907529/

A guess is to have it you may need the relevant front sensor, likely a camera higher up like by inside mirror. Another guess is it may be integrated w the 360 camera view function, which I think is around MY2013. Just speculating though. Works very well in my 2015.

Hey guys,
New to the forum and Audi platform. (2013 D4 A8 3.0TFSI)
Have played with VCDS in my GTI in the past.

I did a bunch of the tweaks available online but can't seem to get the remote up/down windows or the hidden menu to work.
For the windows, i selected comfort operation: remote active. It also shows an option for advance key and window regulator.
With remote active, i went in the MMI menu and selected front and rear windows ON with long remote press. Doesnt Seem to work. Also tried playing around with the advance key and window regular options but none seem to work.

For the Hidden menu, i saw two different instructions, one saying to go under 5F menu, and change channel 6 to 1, and another saying chance channels 5 AND 6 to 1.
Reset MMI and then press Menu and Car buttons together to bring up hidden menu.
Tried both methods but neither one worked.

Would appreciate some help

^ Got the hidden menu to work. To my disappointment, my car wont display some of the tweaks though no battery level, and no oil temp/lap timer option.
Still cant get the windows to work.
Could Setting the car to a different zone maybe do it?

Does anybody have any ideas?

after you do the window tweaks you have to enable the function in the mmi settings.
