ventilated seats

Audi's ventilated seats work differently from other brands. Instead of blowing cooled air through the seat material, it pulls in ambient air. If the seats are hot, you probably won't feel any cooling effect. But if you're sweating, or the seats are cool, then it is noticeable. It's a very subtle effect.

Audi does ventilated/cooled seats differently from other brands. Instead of pushing cool air out through the perforations, it pulls ambient air into them. The effect is noticeable when the seats are cool and you are hot, but barely there if the seats are hot. I would prefer to have cool or cold air pushed out on me, but this better than nothing.

Did they do this on purpose or did the manufacture of the plug harness for the fans just reverse the positive and negative wires. It would seem that you would feel the effect better with the air blowing toward your body. Any part you are sitting on would seem to not have any effect with the fan.

It's more efficacious to pull air than blow it, especially when obstructed by a body
Think about the volumetric flow from vent -> person -> around person -> seat -> away from seat.
Like everything else Audi... you get used to it and don't question it after a while of proven function.
That's what Art in Engineering told me anyway....
