what are we expecting to change for 2014?

I'm planning on getting a 2014 model A8L and was curious what "we" know will be different next year. I'm not looking for a list of hopefuls, just suspected or confirmed items.

thanks,

navin

Let's hope nothing big for the S8. Just bought one. :)

I can't imagine much though. New engine was just introduced, along with a host of updates. I'd guess light updates til mid 14, for a facelift, then 16 -17 for full redo.

Audi Self Drive and other stuff in 2014 facelift according to a magazine I have..
It will drive itself up to 37mph, steering, braking, accelerating, letting other cars in etc..

hmmm, the articles I read say that this feature (autonomous driving) will be in the 2016 model...

Based on the 2014 A8 L TDI order guide, a revised package structure. It looks like you no longer have to order ACC to get Audi side assist!

I think we'll find out in the coming weeks, 2014 spec should be out then.

It's the 2015 spec that will move things forward with additional weight saving/tech upgrades. I'm waiting for that to be released before updating my car. Which reminds me... need to buy a years extra warranty before the 3 years are up!

Yep, I'm onboard for the 2015 for same reasons - probably late in the cycle.

I found this article, expecting a "face lift" and some MMI changes and a few other things for 2014.

"
2014 Audi A8: An Extensive Facelift

The facelifted 2014 Audi A8 looks like a new car. Major changes include completely restyled front and rear ends with less aggressive lights, a prettier grille, and more elegant bumpers. While the current A8 (pictured here) is doing really well in China, Ingolstadt’s halo car has been overtaken in Germany by underdogs like the Mercedes-Benz CLS and the Porsche Panamera. Enginewise, the high-end Audi will receive a more powerful 3.0-liter V-6 TFSI (310 hp instead of 290 hp), an improved 3.0-liter V-6 TDI (258 hp instead of 250 hp), and a brawnier 4.2-liter V-8 TDI (360 hp instead of 350 hp). Of those revised engines, only the V-6 options are expected to make it to U.S. cars. We fully expect the gasoline V-8 and W-12 engines to remain on offer with no major changes expected. Other upgrades include an MMI update, enhanced smartphone and infotainment connectivity, and additional driver assistance systems."
