For ALL other D4 owners--these posts are increasingly a call to action to inspect yours periodically--warranty or not--to avoid damage. For folks under warranty like here, crucial to do pre expiration.
What would we be looking for? Just leaks in the wet? Mine only has 10k on the clock, will age more than mileage affect it?

My headliner on the passenger side of the roof mounted center console got wet when it rained, the reason I found it is that I felt water drip on the back of my hand when putting a cup in the cup holder (that's how wet it got!). I could also get wind noise while driving and pushing on the windshield a little.. My car had just over 30,000 on the clock and is a 2014 D4... not sure if age or miles are a factor...

Angry 4 years old A8 L Leak in passenger site Windshield Seal

Hi,

Any news from Audi to take responsibility from this typical issue with high end cars. I think if this will not be resolved by Audi I will think twice before ever by other Audi. It is ridicules if they have not have recall and replacing or fixing all windshield in these cars. It is many report on the same issue just in this forum. Please let me know if is any lawyers out there to start a class action suit against them. I am in. Please let me know.

Not clear. My guess is the adhesive gives at some point and glass shifts outward a bit at upper edge. Mine was trouble free, but glass since replaced anyway due to rock hit.

Folks have reported leakage w/ car washes and otherwise, seemingly consistently in center at inside mirror area. Extra wind noise at highway speeds is also noted. Practical test is hit it with a water/hose stream at center where inside mirror is and look for any water inside afterward.

Still waiting for a reply from Audi. Originally they said a leaky windshield is NOT covered under the warranty that ends June, 2019.
I have moved up from the dealer to corporate in my pleas. I just cannot believe they would walk away from this.

As suggested elsewhere, file an NHTSA compliant. Any one of them won't matter or get you an immediate fix. But when Audi eventually pays $1,000+ per incident on the seal and the glass they will learn the hard *** way, penny wise and pound foolish on customer satisfaction. Given the number of owners finding the same thing, pretty clearly a manufacturing defect.

2014 A8L original windshield and just went through the same thing. Had to fight with dealer (was just out of warranty) but they finally agreed to pick up the tab to replace the windshield. Keep pushing your service advisor, go up to your service manager and get them to push their regional Audi rep to cover under warranty, or as in my case cover under a goodwill repair for out of warranty.

This is is a clear defect that affects this car, and results from the windshield sealant debonding. Really it’s unacceptable at this point/age for a Kia let alone the Audi flagship. I’m quite sure whatever sealant they use should have a useful lifespan of beyond 5 years.

I appreciate your reply about your experience. So far, I have had no luck. I moved up to Audi customer service and although they initially replied right away, they have stopped contacting me. I am frustrated and determined to see this through.

This is quite a common problem across many car brands - it's pretty easy to repair.
