A8 Update?
 

How do you update MMI system? Also, how do you update navigation map?

Update maps through myAudi. Download it onto a USB and plug it into the car. OTA updates do also occur from time to time but the updates aren't as comprehensive.

MMI cannot be updated by the user. It must be done at the dealer

Pengu, I see you are in Canada. I don't think manual updates on USB are available in the US. If I'm wrong, I will be overjoyed, but I think that is right. If I'm wrong, where are the updates on the myAudi site?

Can anybody explain to me why to update MMI map if CarPlay has several navigation maps which are always up to date. Am I missing anything ?
I don't even remember the last time I opened a car's navigation system.

Because not all of us use iPhones nor do we want to plug in our phones every time we get in the car. It's a matter of personal preference. Different folks, different strokes and all.

But Android has the same apps as Iphone..isn't it ? And a phone connects wirelessly, you don't need to plug it in ( At least in my 2021 A8). Yes, personal preferences can be weird sometimes ...that's the valid point ..lol
