Default D5 negotiation discounts.

If you have purchased a D5, may I ask what % of MSRP did you buy the car at?

I know Audi's in NA typically operate with a 7% margin. I have begun the laborious exercise of reverse auctioning and calling sales managers all over the place. (there are 9 dealerships near me).

After 1 round of negotiations (5 minute phone call through a friend of a friend), I'm at a 2% margin. e.g. a dealer is willing to sell me the vehicle at 95% of MSRP.

I think I can do even better. Thoughts?

Round 2:

Dealer invoice cost + flat $1500 CAD.

With B&O Advanced, MSRP is $111,545 as specced. That works out to 1.34% margin.
W/o B&O Advanced, MSRP is $106,445 as specced. That works out to 1.41% margin.

I have now gotten this deal down to 1.1% margin, confirmed in an email, with proof.

I will be presenting this to my primary car salesperson tomorrow.

Purchased.

0.47% margin.

Dealer holdback is 4%. That's where they made their money.

@angrypengu Congrats!
Does Audi have Dealer Holdback in NA? I read that Audi doesn't have anymore!

BTW, I have been following your threads about Audis and here you finally ended up with purchasing a brand new Audi. Could you, please, write a thread about each of your previous concerns and how you managed it? either with corrected information or risk taking! I am just curious as I purchased my first Audi (my first German car actually) and some times get concerned about reliability. I have been using Lexus cars for 8 years with no reliability issues, this is why I am asking.

Thanks,

Thanks,
According to my dealer, yes, there is holdback in N. America, and given the fact that dealers were willing to sell me this car for a $182 profit (that I paid), it's safe to assume that the holdback must be relatively large otherwise why would a dealership sell me a car at close to cost when it's a brand new model year/flagship? That's my thought, at least.

Let me know or continue posting to the community about your experience with the new D5.
Do you mind if i ask whats the price negotiation and monthly payments?
I appreciate it.
Tomorrow, i have an appointment with my dealer to purchase my lease end purchase 2015 Audi A8.
I may have last minute thoughts.
What do you mean about the holdback percentage.
