How many of you would forego the D5 and wait for this?...

No way Jose.
Audi has a record of screwing up everything that is brand new to the brand.
Direct injection being one in 2007.
And I love burning gas 😂

My 2007 D3 was one of the first to come down the assembly line with the new DFI, probably the first day or so of the run based upon the VIN, and I would frequently thank my good luck that it wasn't built a little sooner with the old system as a 2006 model. Mine was a build order.
When I said goodby to my A8 eleven years later, the engine was still smooth as silk, and the mileage was as good or better than new. I did frequent oil changes and used top tier gas, and even put in a dose of Techron periodically, even though many said that treatment didn't matter with DFI.
Audi may have screwed up earlier DFI engines, but I believe they had it right in 2007, at least in the D3, assuming the owner took some care. Mike
