Traffic Jam Pilot vs Traffic Jam Assist
The Level 3 autonomous driving feature in the D5 is Traffic Jam Pilot. How much better is this than the currently available Traffic Jam Assist? I have Traffic Jam Assist on my 2017 A4 and like it quite a bit.
Here is what I've pieced together based on a few articles:
- TJP can steer, within the cars current lane (TJA only nudges the car back into lane but can't steer around curves)
- TJP can start back up from a full stop (TJA can only do this for the first 3 seconds of the stop' after that you need to tap the gas to get it going again)
- TJP will not pester you to keep your hands on the wheel
This is a nice improvement. Any other changes?
