Curious what folks' thought process are on the D5.

For me:

Main competitive vehicle: 2019 S450.

For the A8:

1) Centered steering wheel (all MB sedans have a steering wheel that are not centered, and are offset).
2) The seat massage function is probably better.
3) Normal sane tires (non RFTs) with a spare.
4) LWB is standard, and looks better. The S450 in Canada is a SWB car.
5) The Audi AI suspension coming in the summer of 2019 will actually mean the ride quality should surpass the S class.

Against the A8:

1) Audi Canada would have me finance at 4.9%, versus 1.9% with Mercedes.
2) Unproven car with no reliability track record, add onto the fact the whole 48V MHEV thing.
3) It would appear to me that the aftermarket warranty will not cover the $2500/strut or any struts for that matter. Ugh.
4) The Burmester 3D stereo on the S has 3 speakers on the roof behind the front seats. That 3D sound is not available on the A8 even with the B&O Advanced Sound system. The rear 3D sound effect is not hear-able for the front speakers.
